Vreden is a small town with approximately 24,000 inhabitants near the Dutch border. Nature reserves and excellent cycling trails (tracking and mountain biking) are just a stone's throw away. The 100 Castles Route is also very popular with cyclists. An off-road mountain bike trail connects the neighboring village of Allstätte and the Dutch town of Endschede.
