🔥 Campfires only with explicit permissionfrom the host. Only light a fire if it is explicitly permitted and only at the designated fire pits! Be especially careful near forests.Dry conditions in summer can lead to fires. The German Weather Service (DWD) provides information on the risk of forest fires. If you discover a fire, report it to the fire brigade immediately.

🌾 Do not enter fields or pastures.Do not enter agricultural land, no fenced areas with animals, and behave calmly in their presence.

🐕‍🦺If you have a dog with you, only visit pitches where dogs are welcome. Keep your loyal companionsalways on a leash, remember to bringenough water and shade on hot days.Do not let your dog run free in the forest, as this can disturb wild animals.

🌱 In the forest - picking plants:Under the Federal Nature Conservation Act, you may only pick plants (or mushrooms) for personal use. Protected species are excluded. So pick unprotected species that are plentiful. This is also known as the 1-in-25 rule: you should only pick a plant if at least 25 other plants of the same species are present at the same location. This prevents local extinction of the species.

🧭 In the forest - leaving the paths:In general, there is a right of free access to nature and forests. Even so, you must be careful not to cause damage. Only leave the paths when truly necessary. In nature reserves or other fragile areas, this right may not apply or may be restricted. Pay close attention here andpay attention to the signs.

🚬 In the forest - smoking:In some federal states there is asmoking banduring the forest fire season (1 March to 31 October). But regardless of this, smoking in the forest should be avoided.

🐗 In the forest - encounters with wild animals:Wild animals in the forest usually flee from humans. In rare exceptions, wild boars can become defensive. This only happens when the animals feel cornered and want to protect their young. If you encounter wild boars, make yourself known by speaking loudly and simply keep walking. The wild boar should be able to notice you without being startled. By talking, the animal can hear you moving away.Do not touch baby animals. In general, never touch young animals, as you leave behind the human scent and the mother may then reject her young.
