Next to our large meadow of flowers and scattered fruit trees, beneath the old cherry tree and the ancient weeping willow, lies a lawn of approximately 1000 square meters, perfect for relaxing and unwinding for campers of all ages. A separate entrance leads to the pitch, guaranteeing peace and seclusion. With a bit of luck, you might even spot many cranes as your immediate neighbors in the surrounding fields during spring and autumn. Our nearly 100-year-old farmstead is situated in a secluded location amidst fields. Our small village of Mellinghausen lies south of the Wildeshausen Geest in the district of Diepholz. The nearest larger town is Sulingen. Many activities are possible in the region. Those who enjoy hiking, Nordic walking, or cycling will find beautiful spots to explore in the immediate vicinity and in the surrounding moors. The Weser meadows around Hoya and Nienburg also offer charming routes. In the town itself, there is an alpaca farm offering alpaca treks. A goat and donkey farm offers fresh goat cheese and donkey treks. The neighboring town of Siedenburg has a heated outdoor swimming pool, and the larger lakes Dümmer and Steinhuder Meer are within easy reach. The Petermoor Archepark in Bassum, the Ströhen Wildlife Park, and the Wolf Center in Dörverden are further attractive destinations. For those seeking an even more pristine nature experience, the Ströhen Moor Worlds, the Kuppendorf Heath during its flowering season in August, or the Sensory Garden in Freistatt are worth a visit. A canoe trip on the Hunte River is also particularly enjoyable, with several canoe rental companies operating. Those looking for a movie will find screenings in Sulingen or Nienburg. Good restaurants to suit every taste can be found in the town itself, as well as in Sulingen, Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Nienburg, and other medium-sized towns in the surrounding area.
