About the site
Our farm is in Abtenau in the Unterberg district. We are located about 3 km outside of town, very conveniently close to many hiking trails and excursion destinations such as the Kneipp facility, waterfalls, alpine huts and much more. My family and our dog Chicco live on the farm. We keep cows, sheep, turkeys and a horse. The animals live on the alpine pasture in the summer, however.

We have no special rules that go beyond the good behavior of a guest. Please refrain from playing loud music, take your rubbish home with you and do not drink excessively (the pitch is on my farm and of course my children run around too). To avoid accidents, it is forbidden to enter the farm buildings and the fertilizer storage area (manure area).

I was here several times and had three relaxing days here on the farm. The site is stunningly beautiful, very quiet, and offers a spectacular mountain panorama. Directly from the site, you can enjoy wonderful hikes to waterfalls or the Rocher Alm mountain hut. A shady natural Kneipp facility and the local history museum are also within walking distance. Josef and his wife are super nice and helpful. When my things were wet after a hike in the rain, Josef heated up the old kitchen, and everything was dry the next day. There's a toilet and a bathroom with a sink, all very clean. If you ask nicely and Josef has time to heat it up, you can also take a shower. I'd love to come back.

We decided at short notice to stay overnight with Josef on our way to Croatia. He welcomed us very warmly, and we had a wonderful stay. We'd love to come back, and definitely for longer. There's so much to explore right from the farm.
