Alternative (life plan), or... ... at artists' homes (or in the "garden") Let me put it this way: You have to like it...(?) Or: everything is different...(!) on the plus side We really liked Enrico and Riikka. They were warm, open-minded, trustworthy, and always available. The rating refers solely to what we found, contrary to the description. VanSite says, among other things, "...permaculture project with a beautiful botanical garden..." Okay, I think, you could call it that, although we've seen and experienced both permaculture projects and beautiful botanical gardens differently. It might be a matter of opinion. "...and would be happy to tell you more about the area's rich biodiversity and culture, as well as our eco-friendly lifestyle." Yes, let's leave out the whole story. The facts (currently) look much more sober, but they could be stopped if desired, or it speaks against the attitude of the... If, for example, I relate the culture of the area to the garbage, then that's certainly true. It's also something that people live with on this (actually beautiful) property... One, no, two, dilapidated caravans in the bushes may be romantic, but with bulky waste in them? Natural, or as the very friendly hosts put it, "We respect nature and want our guests to treat the plants around them with care."... we think that's great and fully support that, but unfortunately, we're also faced with mountains of trash that have obviously not been accidentally dumped and have accumulated over a long time in this natural environment that should be treated with care. I don't want to say there's no respect for this beautiful nature, but there's certainly a lack of it. Last point, shower/WC: Review VanSite Mike K, December 2024: Mike complained about something: "Decent toilet but the shower was damaged and very dirty when we were there." What's sobering for us is that the situation seems to have remained unchanged for about six months. The toilet seat is broken, large pieces have broken off the plastic shower wall, making it unusable, the toilet brush is lying in the shower tray, which is filthy with dirt (no, not just a little dirt, dirt), the spider webs that have existed for generations stretch from the ceiling to the shower faucet, and around the long-forgotten shower gel from who knows who... Romantic? Unfortunately, during the briefing, Enrico told me that Riikka had gone away this morning and was therefore unable to clean it... I'm a little speechless/surprised. Maybe I should have replied, "Maybe you could have done it yourself (before, or after the last guests)," but I didn't... I'm truly sorry that I can't give a rating other than this one, but I want to be honest and not equate the positive sites with this one; that would simply be unfair to all those who have put so much heart, work, and time into their pitches, and no matter what they look like (garden, commune, winery, campsite...), if it's described honestly, then every pitch (however different they may be) deserves recognition for its achievements. Here, I found almost nothing of what I described (except for the warm communication, the friendly welcome from Enrico and Riikka, the peace and quiet, the wild nature, chickens, the dog, and the cats)... Too bad.
