About the site
On our spacious, beautiful 3500 sqm property in Wegscheid am Kamp (Kamptal) in the Waldviertel, you can move around and develop freely. Children can have a wonderful time here (there is a road in front of the house, but it is separated from the property by a dense hedge and partly by a fence). There are no immediate neighbors, and when you book, you'll always be alone on the property (unless you bring friends with you. A fee applies per pitch as stated). There is the possibility to hang a hammock in the garden. In the evening, you can prepare something delicious at the covered fire pit (several seating areas and tables are available) or stroll to the restaurant, which is a 5-minute walk away. In the neighboring village (Sankt Leonhard am Hornerwald), there is a farm shop that is open all day, 7 days a week and offers a great selection of regional and fresh produce! Across the road is the beautiful Kamp (a Natura 2000 whitewater lake), where you can fish and canoe. A 3-minute drive takes you to a beautiful reservoir (plus a public restroom), where you can swim and go boating (there's a special dog area). Krems is half an hour away, Vienna is about 45 minutes away. There is a simple, cold outdoor shower and a basic dry toilet on our property. A dump station for campers can be found, for example, at the Ottenstein Reservoir, and a clean, public toilet is 3 minutes away. In summer, the Waldviertel offers a diverse range of cultural activities. Otherwise, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature here. The area is also perfect for easy and moderate hikes, exploring ancient castles and the constellations, cozy campfires, and nature observation.

A beautiful, expansive meadow next to fields and forest. We parked right at the top, next to the apple trees, simply because of the even better view. Down by the house, there's electricity and water, but we didn't need them. Wheel chocks are helpful, as the meadow is slightly sloping. We didn't have any with us, so we ended up parking a bit crooked. The only problem is that the driveway is quite narrow, and with a rear end as big as our "August" has, you have to fold in the side mirrors and drive straight through. I didn't do that, and ended up scratching the paintwork with the branches of the bushes. It's quiet, even though the road is nearby, but there's hardly any traffic, and hardly anyone drives by at night anyway. The host, Lena, responds quickly and very friendly. A romantic spot where you feel at home. The birds chirp, the stream babbles, and every now and then you can hear the cows grazing in the pasture. Wonderful!!!

A very nice spot with privacy, a campground right in front of the property, and a lovely fire pit and covered seating area. If you're looking for absolute peace and quiet, the road might be a nuisance.

A nice place to relax. and yes, there is a road along it, but it is not very busy and actually did not bother me at all. There are beautiful views (see photo) and the property has a really nice energy. There is water straight from the spring and a cold shower that is wonderfully refreshing. Lena sends you very clear instructions and offers great ideas for things to do in the area, as well as tips for necessary shopping. I personally didn't leave the property at all, as I didn't feel the need to. I didn't meet the owners, but the written communication was very pleasant. If it were up to me, this won't be the last time I come here to relax. I really enjoyed it!
