About the site
In charming surroundings at the foot of the Dolmar in Thuringia you will find the "Flight School at the Dolmar". You can park on a meadow or gravel with a view of the Dolmar or in the direction of the Rhön. Directions: A71, Meinigen Nord junction via the B280 bypass, Schmalkalden to the Kühndorf junction, turn left just before Kühndorf and follow the road to the end

A little more information at the beginning would have been nice, but we managed to find the restroom anyway. It's in the same room as the shower, so you might have to wait in line in the mornings and evenings. Just be aware of that. We were self-sufficient, and it didn't bother us. The view was amazing, and the fog in the morning made the atmosphere truly mystical. It was also perfect for passing through. The restaurant looked delicious. The road is paved.

A very nice, small, quiet campsite at the flight school in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The campsite is located directly on the Dolmar with a magnificent view. The staff is very friendly and The café and restaurant “Pilotprojekt” is also recommended. We really enjoyed our time there. We'd love to come back.

Nice spot for several RVs. If you're looking for solitude, this is the place for you. Friendly hosts in the pilot project.

A fantastic campsite with super friendly owners. A small restaurant right on site with really great food. You can go hiking from there. The view of the surrounding area is simply amazing. We really enjoyed it and it's definitely going on our "go back again" list :) Thanks for the great stay! Murphy says THANK YOU for the treats :))
