This parking spot was the undisputed highlight of our trip. We love airfields like this... the runway... the planes... and the feeling of freedom that comes with it. So we booked three nights here on our return trip from the Baltic Sea. Everything was better than expected. Utility and waste disposal facilities were in the immediate vicinity, a shower and toilet were only 10 meters away, and there was even a washing machine available for use. Everything was great, but it was about to get even better, much better. We had barely lined up when we saw the first skydivers above us, landing about 100 meters away. A long time ago, my husband had already dared to make an unforgettable tandem jump. The memory and the feeling immediately came back to him. I watched the spectacle all day, and my desire grew. The weather was perfect that weekend, the atmosphere was fantastic, all the jumpers were thrilled, so I gave it a try, too, and what can I say... it was indescribable. We still watch the video we booked several times a day. Our host, Grit, and her husband, Heino, were always concerned about our well-being and, through many interesting conversations, introduced us to skydiving, so that now we're both so excited about jumping out of airplanes. Our plan now is to learn this sport and get our skydiving licenses, naturally here in this beautiful location. Who would have thought that when we chose this parking spot as one among many. This location, the operators, the jumpers, my tandem instructor, and just everything was absolutely fantastic. Saying goodbye was soooo painful, and we can hardly wait to come back.
