Registration was unsuccessful, and you will only receive a message one day later. This is obviously incorrect! We did not visit this campsite because we did not receive confirmation.

The good news first: The site is secure; you're located on private, fenced-off property within a residential area. This area is further secured by a gate. There are sanitary facilities and a separate kitchen area. It is relatively close to the city of Catania and the beach is in the immediate vicinity. Why it only got two stars: The security measures are necessary because the area is unfortunately not at all attractive. Even the entrance gate to the settlement has large holes, allowing people to walk in at any time. The area outside the settlement is heavily littered, deserted, and feels unsafe, even for Sicily. The sanitary facilities and kitchen are very basic (a shower room with a toilet and poor drainage in one room). The site is shared with a rented, extremely run-down RV. I would never rent that. Furthermore, the site is reserved for the tenants of the two other vacation apartments. At full capacity, it becomes very cramped, almost impossibly small. Getting into the city requires a separate vehicle. The motorcycle was fine, as we didn't want to break down along the way. There is a public bus, but we didn't test it. All in all: a place for one night, fine for sightseeing in Catania, suitable for a day at the beach.
