The Schmitt Winery is a third-generation family business, cultivating vineyards on shell limestone soils in the Middle Main and Volkacher Mainschleife, and on gypsum Keuper in the Steigerwald. Most of our vineyards are located in water protection areas. We offer a wide selection of white and red wines, sparkling wine, Federweißer, and mulled wine. We distill fine brandies and produce non-alcoholic beverages from our orchards. The vineyards lend the wines their unique and distinctive structure. The best parts of being a winemaker are working with nature, facing new challenges every year, being able to realize new ideas in the wine cellar, and allowing the wines to mature with special lighting and classical music. The eagle, the heraldic animal from the traditional family crest, symbolically flies over the expanse of the vineyards and our homeland. Our origins remain the same, even if nothing is as constant as change. We offer various events in the vineyard, at the winery, or directly at our customers' premises. For campers, we offer a quiet pitch among the fruit trees. During tours of the factory and wine tastings, you'll learn the stories behind the family and their wines.
