About the site

Welcome to La Villeneuve! Your pitch is located on one of the hills in the middle of the nature of southern Burgundy , surrounded by forests , hills and fields , about 45 minutes from the A6 (Autoroute du Solail) in Chalon-Sur-Saône and is open to you all year round. There are 4 parking spaces in the orchard of a former winery (8000 m²) with a manor house , outbuildings , garden and park , separated from each other by the fruit trees. Each individual space offers plenty of space of its own. The entire property is surrounded by a wall. Motorcycle tourists , families with children , hikers , cyclists , everyone is welcome here. Since we had very bad experiences , which cost the lives of some of our animals and injured others , we have decided with a heavy heart not to take in any more guest dogs. Various benches , groups of tables and other resting places , especially in the park , invite you to linger. Enjoy the beautiful view and meet our numerous free-roaming animals. Whether it's the domestic animals such as dogs , cats , chickens , peacocks and a donkey , wild small animals and birds or our only neighbors , the Charolais cattle , you will examine each one with curiosity. With us you can expect a lot of nature , peace and relaxation as well as direct contact with the country and its people. Electrical connections are available for mobile homes. The supply of drinking water is also guaranteed. In the area of an outbuilding there is a toilet , a shower , a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen with hotplates , microwave , kettle , coffee machine , large fridge and freezer , dishes , cutlery , pots , etc. There is a dumping point for dirty water in approx. 10 minutes away and easy to get to. On request , we will be happy to prepare breakfast , lunch , dinner , coffee and cake or packed lunches for you. There are many hiking trails , bike trails , markets and festivals in this area. Activities such as swimming , fishing , kayaking , boat trips , wagon rides , carting , etc. are also available. Not far away are amusement parks , a zoo , a thermal bath , castles , archaeological excavations (e.g. Bibracte) , pilgrimage sites (Paray-Le-Monial , Cluny) , a Buddhist temple , geological features , museums , cultural institutions , restaurants , shops , etc. Excursions to Lyon (approx. 1 ¾ hours) , Guédelon Castle (approx. 2 ¼ hours) , Lake Geneva (approx. 2.5 hours) , Vezelay (approx. 2 hours) or the Burgundian wine region (approx. 1 hour) are also possible. Even Paris can be reached in 4 hours. If you wish , we will be happy to act as your personal tour guide for some of the sights.
