About the site

Large grassy area located in a very quiet place in the north / east area of the Rieti plain called Valle Santa. The location is easily reachable via comfortable , asphalted roads and close to the urban centers of Rieti and Terni. It is about an hour and a half from Rome , two hours from Perugia and three from Florence. It is located within the Lungo and Ripasottile Lakes Nature Reserve , close to the Marmore Falls and about half an hour from Monte Terminillo. Trekking routes such as the Cammino di San Benedetto and that of San Francesco can be easily reached from the location. A few kilometers away there are all the Franciscan sanctuaries and sites of religious interest linked to the saint of Assisi. Not far away are the take-off runways for hang gliders and paragliders of Poggio Bustone , The area is full of mountain bike and trekking routes. 40 minutes away you can go rafting and kayaking at the Velino gorges to the south and the Nera gorges to the west. The ski slopes of Mount Terminillo and Campostella in Leonessa , as well as Campo Felice and Gran Sasso in the province of L'Aquila , are easily accessible in winter. Furthermore , when the snow cover allows it , snowshoe or mountaineering ski routes can be practiced.
