In “Trais-Horloff” (35410 Hungen) you have plenty of space to camp on approximately 600 square meters of meadow ⛺️ (vehicles are NOT allowed on the property) Located on the edge of the village, the recreational property borders a nature reserve, a lake district that is home to a variety of water birds: a wide hedgerow protects the "Upper Knappensee" area. The very beautiful bathing lake (Trais-Horloff/Inheiden) is right next door. Important: You are NOT directly at the lake! It's about 5 minutes by car/bike, 15-20 minutes on foot. There are several sunbathing lawns by the water and separate dog bathing areas (dogs are unfortunately not allowed on the lawns). There are restaurants and restrooms at the lake, and you can walk around it (partly directly, partly on a longer path). Launching points for SUPs and small boats are easily accessible at many points. Your plot of land for camping 🏕️: You have plenty of space on the meadow and the following are available: A (lockable) hut for storing your belongings (unfortunately not for overnight stays), tables and chairs + parasol, an earth refrigerator and a composting toilet. A stone barbecue and a campfire area, as well as small items such as folding chairs to take to the lake, etc., await you. We can provide fresh water (canisters) upon request. We are happy to accommodate your individual requests (e.g., providing drinks/barbecue package/breakfast/tent). Just let us know! If you stay a few days longer, we would be happy to arrange excursions for you (e.g., special experiences with animals: goat picnic or pony hike, etc.). Cycling and hiking are truly beautiful here at the foot of the Vogelsberg mountains. There are many great leisure activities available. Cars can be parked "around the corner." A cozy restaurant with a beer garden is within walking distance. Numerous restaurants and shops (including pharmacies) are located in the immediate vicinity. If you are looking for a quiet spot in nature and still appreciate "civilization" within easy reach (e.g. by bicycle), then "Seensucht" is absolutely the right place for you. Dogs are always welcome! However, the property is not completely "dog-proof" fenced, so please ensure your furry friends are secured so that they cannot leave the property unattended. Trais-Horloff has a train station and bus stops and is therefore quite well connected to public transport (RMV + HLB).
