About the site
Welcome to Casa Elementare, our home and a place for connecting with nature and learning together in Frassineta, a small mountain village in the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines. Here we live as a family, surrounded by forests and the mountainous landscape of the Foreste Casentinesi. Our campsite is ideal for people seeking peace, simplicity, and an authentic nature experience. Please note before booking that access requires a genuine, off-road capable 4x4 with sufficient ground clearance. A standard motorhome is not suitable for this route. Your vehicle must also have its own toilet. There are no sanitary facilities or water and waste disposal options on site. You must be completely self-sufficient. You must take all waste, wastewater, and toilet contents with you and dispose of them at a designated location. In our valley, there are no artificial sounds or artificial lights. Darkness is still part of the night here. You can listen to the sounds of the forest and the calls of the deer, and gaze at the stars on a clear night. The surrounding area is perfect for hiking, discovering animal tracks, and exploring small mountain villages. Or simply for sitting outside, breathing deeply, and finding peace. Casa Elementare is a personal, rustic place that we are developing step by step. A mindful approach to the landscape and a friendly atmosphere characterize our life here. We speak Italian and German and look forward to welcoming you.

Site rules
The pitch is reserved for those who respect nature, are completely self-sufficient and have experience stopping in isolated places and driving on dirt mountain roads. To reach it, you'll need a proper 4x4 with an on-board bathroom. There are no restrooms, hookups, or drainage points. All waste and grey and black water must be taken away and disposed of in authorised facilities. We ask that you respect the silence and darkness of the valley, avoiding music, generators, and unnecessary outdoor lights, and observing deer and other wildlife from a distance, without disturbing or feeding them. Arrival must be agreed with us and travel must follow the indicated route. Each guest is invited to leave the place intact, with the same care with which they would like to find it.
Location
For a full refund, you must cancel at least 7 days before your arrival date. If you cancel between 3 and 7 days before arrival, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 3 days before arrival, no refund is possible.
Additional services (e.g., bread delivery, bike rental) are not affected by the cancellation policy and are fully refundable. Additional overnight costs (electricity, fresh water, toilet, and shower), however, are subject to the regular cancellation policy. Additional services and additional overnight costs cannot be canceled individually.
Regardless of the selected cancellation policy and the type of booking, the VanSite service fee will be retained in full for every cancellation.
