Our favorite spot is located on the enchanting grounds of the old paper mill in Neu Kaliss. Located directly on the Elde River, a tributary of the Elbe, you can wander through this charming abandoned place, visit the historical exhibition, kayak towards the old mill or to the nature reserve near Dömitz. Alternatively, you can go fishing or explore the Elbe Cycle Path. Anyone expecting individual plots or a traditional camping atmosphere will be disappointed. But here you'll find even more industrial heritage, lost place charm, and wild nature! This is a unique, unspoiled place to spend a few relaxing days far from the big city. The old brick buildings provide a home for falcons, storks, and kites; deer roam the fields, and in the mornings you'll be awakened by sheep or free-range chickens. The sunset terrace on the island, with its Hollywood swing and comfortable garden furniture, invites you to linger, and in the evenings there is often a fire or spontaneous cinema on the big screen. The grounds include the office building, which is currently hosting various creative projects and an exhibition about the history of the factory. You are also welcome to explore the old paper mill's grounds on the island, with all its enchanting corners, and enjoy the sunset over the fields.
