“When I see the lake, I don’t need the sea anymore…” In “Trais-Horloff” (35410 Hungen) you have plenty of space for camping on around 600 sqm of meadow ⛺️ (cars are NOT allowed on the property) Located on the outskirts of town, the recreational property borders a lake (Oberer Knappensee) that's designated as a nature reserve and home to a variety of waterfowl. Next door is the beautiful swimming lake (Trais-Horloff/Inheiden). You'll have plenty of space on the lawn, and the following amenities are available: a (lockable) hut for storing your belongings (unfortunately, not for overnight stays), tables and chairs, a parasol, an earth refrigerator, and a dry toilet. A stone grill and a campfire pit, as well as small amenities like folding chairs to take to the lake, etc., are waiting for you. We can provide fresh water (canisters) upon request. We're happy to accommodate your individual requests (e.g., providing drinks/a barbecue package/breakfast/a tent). Just ask! If you are staying a few days longer, we would be happy to arrange excursions for you (e.g. special experiences with animals: goat picnic or pony trek, etc.). Cycling and hiking are truly wonderful here at the foot of the Vogelsberg Mountains. There are many great recreational opportunities. Cars can be parked around the corner. There's also a small general store with baked goods and a post office. A cozy restaurant with a beer garden is within walking distance. Numerous restaurants and shops (including pharmacies) are located in the immediate vicinity. If you are looking for a quiet place in the countryside and still appreciate the “civilization” within easy reach (e.g. by bike), then “Seensucht” is the right place for you. Dogs are always welcome! However, the property is not completely “dog-proof” fenced, so please ensure that your furry friends are not able to leave the property unattended.
