About the site
Sleeping at Moulin-au-Bois is a very special and unusual experience: what we offer you is not just a camping spot... Le Moulin-au-Bois is a former industrial site, having welcomed up to a hundred inhabitants who worked in the forge and then the nail factory. You can visit the site and the various projects in progress: The Bains d'Énergies Collective Interest Cooperative Society is working to rehabilitate the site and produce green, solar and hydraulic energy using a hydroelectric turbine. The association Au Fil du Bagnerot and its Third Place of cultural activities Labô'Aime occasionally offer festive events open to the public, and participatory ecological construction sites: in 2024, a Kerterre, which you will be able to discover. Choosing to rent a space on this site participates in this ethical citizen project, supports it financially, so thank you for your approach! The site is located on the banks of a river, close to the orchard and the original washhouse. Spring water flows there continuously and brings peace. Access to the location is made easy by the proximity of the road. All the useful shops are in Bains-les-Bains (about 2 km). The weekly market with all its local products takes place on Friday morning on the Place de la Fête in the village center. Visits around the site: the Royal Factory (1 km on foot), the Father Tétin cave (500m), the smugglers' cave (1km), navigation on the canal at Fontenoy-le-Château (5 km) and visit of the Port and the village, the famous images of Épinal (35 km)... Close to the Voie Verte of the Vosges canal 2 minutes away

- spring water available for all your uses/tank fillings, but it is neither controlled nor tested, even if the inhabitants consume it. - access to the river under your full responsibility as well. - use of soap or other body products prohibited in the washhouse and in the river. - visiting this old site is possible, but access to the buildings is prohibited. Please respect the signs and barriers that prevent dangerous access. - Leave the land clean. - Please take your waste with you, including cigarette butts. - If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. - the municipality has a free area accessible 2 km from the site, to empty waste water and fill with water from the network.

Exceptionally kind and helpful hosts. A mystical place and a wonderful experience for our family. Quiet, beautiful natural surroundings with a freshwater spring right at the campsite.

This is a very beautiful and peaceful place, nestled in a historic setting. There's a great bike path right nearby that runs along the canal. I felt very comfortable. Marie-Laure is a very friendly host who explains everything about the place. I'd love to come back. July 2024
