About the site

We are located in the woods of an abandoned village in the Ligurian Apennines, Italy, 15 km from the 5 Terre. We have created pitches shaded by century-old trees, easily accessible streams, and a private river garden, nestled in the waters of a pure and clear river a 20-minute walk away. There are trekking or mountain biking trails, beaches 40 minutes away, a relaxation area in our forest, and forest bathing (Shinrin-Yoku). We are located in the organic food valley, with culinary excellence.

Site rules

We ask guests who wish to visit us to understand that our pitches have been created with respect for nature and the surrounding area, as Parisalla Rural Hub is a Permaculture project. Therefore, we have decided not to create structures that could impact the environment: we are fulfilling a conservation role that the Universe has offered us, and we are grateful for this opportunity. Come to Parisalla in the complete simplicity of your own ego: come in your preferred vehicle, even better if it's vintage. Dress as you like and do as you please. But please respect Nature with us and consider the following rules. 1) We can provide water, even though it is a precious and expensive resource for us: please don't waste it! 2) You can leave your organic waste in our compost; plastic, glass, and other items must be removed. If you really want us to manage it, we will ask for a small contribution. 3) The pitches are level, but the terrain is grassy and natural. You may need some wood to place under your wheels to find the right balance: we'll provide it for you! 4) There's a kitchen available in the bivouac area. If you'd like to use the gas stove, there's a small surcharge; the wood stove is free. 5) Pets are welcome. 6) After 11:00 PM, we ask you to keep music and noise to a minimum. To reach us: From the village of Sesta Godano, follow the signs for Pignona (about 3 km); from here, the dirt road (2.8 km) leads to Parisalla. The road is also accessible with a 2x4, a van, a Bulli, and even a trailer no longer than 6 meters. Campers might be bothered by some branches overhead, but the road is quite wide: they often bring the rental excavator there with a truck, and we move a trailer with our boat along this road anyway.

Offers

Salami and cheese platter lunch order from Bio Food district

In the small square of the only still inhabited house in the ghost village, we serve a typical platter of local sausages and cheeses, bread, and a glass of wine or beer. Reservations required.

Shinrin Yoku or forest bathing experience

Forest bathing is a Japanese anti-stress therapy practice that involves access to the forest and engaging in activities aimed at achieving inner peace and harmony in nature through simple holistic practices. Mindful walks in the forest, meditation, and revitalizing the five senses are simple yet effective experiences when practiced in the right setting. Our Parisalla Rural Hub site has created spaces and trails for this type of activity, creating a suitable location in accordance with the parameters of the European institution (PEFC program for the recognition of forest certification systems).

The peace and quiet was very nice. The drive to the place was difficult but definitely doable. Unfortunately, the only electricity was a single socket in the bathroom, which was very dirty and inhabited by a few spiders. Overall, it was fine for a quiet night, but not exactly inviting for a longer stay.

An experience in the middle of the forest. Absolute peace and quiet with everything you need. Water, electricity, a shower, and a toilet in a mini-container. Quite alternative, but with the most beautiful starry sky. The host is very friendly. The route is a challenge even for a VW bus, as it's a long, unpaved road.

An absolute dream location. Far away from the noise and hustle and bustle. Minimalism perfectly implemented. Very friendly host. We'd love to come back.

An off-road vehicle is recommended. It's not just a dirt road, but also features rugged potholes and overhanging branches. This route is impossible to navigate without a higher vehicle. The ruins of the abandoned village can be spooky at night, but if that's what you're looking for, you'll find an adventure here. You might find yourself completely alone in the middle of the forest, with no cell reception and no lights. The toilet cistern is filled with water; when it is empty, it cannot be flushed. Anyone seeking absolute peace and nature will love it.

The host doesn't respond to the booking request. He specifies an arrival window of only 2 hours. He's also unavailable by phone. The road there, without his knowledge or consultation, is impassable on a normal small road with a roof tent. But he does accept the booking request at around 10:30 PM. I chose a different spot. ☹️ Too bad.
