About the site
The name says it all. You and your motorhome are parked directly on the official Saxon Way of St. James next to our first horse paddock. Our pitches are very popular with concert-goers at Klaffenbach Water Castle, as the walk from here to the castle takes about 15 minutes. We run a farm with organic horse husbandry as a boarding facility. The Saxon Way of St. James runs through our farm. Pilgrims collect their stamp here and continue towards Santiago de Compostela.

Quiet hours from 10 p.m., no open fires in or near the barns, please do not go into the stables or onto the paddocks without us.

Bert's family is very friendly and it's easy to strike up a conversation. The parking space is well signposted, but the entrance is too narrow. There is an alternative access road. The site is very steep. We recommend using ramps. The path to the parking space is very narrow and dusty. The main road can be clearly heard during weekday mornings.

In April of this year, we visited the horse paddock as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations. We received a very warm welcome and were able to try out the outdoor kitchen right away. We'd love to come back again!

We had a peaceful night in the horse paddock. Communication was excellent until we arrived, and we even had a pleasant and interesting chat with the owners. So, if you like peace and quiet in the countryside, this is the place for you.

We received a very friendly welcome from the farm owner. The campsite is idyllic, there's electricity, and the sanitary facilities are very well maintained. The horse paddock on the Way of St. James is highly recommended.
