Our 7000m2 property is located directly between forest and civilization. If you're looking for a few relaxing days in the forest and just want to let God be a good man for a change, we're the perfect place for you. Of course, your dogs are also welcome, as long as they get along with our four cats that roam the grounds. Since there's a hiking trail and a dog park right next to the camp, they're used to a lot of trouble. ;-) Power for a cooler or cell phone charger is, of course, available. However, it would be advisable to bring a cable reel. Our outdoor toilet is very, very rustic but functional; so far, everyone has been pretty impressed. You can also immortalize yourself on our "Wall of Fame" (our guestbook, so to speak). Please note: Since the toilet is not frost-proof, it is unfortunately unavailable during the winter months, as we have to turn off the water for safety reasons. Don't be alarmed; the water comes from a well with a high iron content and can sometimes look a bit rusty. It's fine for flushing the toilet or washing hands, but it's not suitable for brushing teeth or making coffee. In an emergency, we'll be happy to fill a canister with drinking water for you. For a relaxing evening around the campfire, our large fire bowl is available, and for a small donation to our savings box, you'll have plenty of firewood. Of course, no one minds playing music with your after-work beer. To the north, the property borders an idyllic forest, perfect for long walks. 200 meters to the east, a small stream flows through an old watermill. During the summer months, you can enjoy homemade cakes and fresh bread from the mill's own bakery at the monthly Mill Festival (www.niemoellers-muehle.de). On the way to the mill, you will also pass our well-stocked book exchange cabinet, where you can always find something for an evening with a good book. Heading south, you'll find yourself back in civilization. Within walking distance are a kiosk and a small snack bar serving a great takeaway pizza, as well as a bus stop that will take you into Bielefeld city center in a quarter of an hour, where you can explore, for example, Bielefeld's landmark, the Sparrenburg Castle. Bielefeld's first brewery, the Bielefelder Braumanufaktur, opened its doors last year in the immediate vicinity (a 15-minute walk). Here, you can not only book a tour, but also sample freshly brewed beer on site every Wednesday (bielefelder.com). If you prefer to swim a few laps in the cool water in the summer evenings, the outdoor pool is only 3 km away through the forest (www.naturbad-brackwede.de). To replenish your supplies, there are various supermarkets (Kaufland/Aldi/Lidl etc.) within a radius of 1 - 2 km. Please note: If you're looking for total peace and quiet, this isn't the place for you. Depending on the wind and weather, you'll naturally hear the sounds of civilization. In clear weather and with a westerly wind, you'll also hear the highway.
