Dear campers, from April to September please book at least 2 nights on weekends - thank you! Welcome to our little cottage in Drensteinfurt! You can camp here with up to 8 people; children are very welcome. First and foremost, an important note: Please be aware that you ALWAYS have to book the bathroom (shower and toilet) separately. I don't want to mislead you into thinking it's a cheap price, but I can't present it any other way on this platform. This means that on top of the VanSite price of €39/night, you'll need to add €11/night for the bathroom. We do not rent the site without the bathroom. 🌳 On the east side of our farmyard, you'll find a large meadow. If you like, you can find shade under the trees. You are welcome to come with multiple vehicles. 🔥 You have the opportunity to use our barrel sauna, and you are welcome to borrow our fire bowl. 🗼You'll be camping next to/under our willow tree with a view of our mill tower and the farm buildings. The mill tower is always a highlight. It was built at the end of the 1800s and lost its sails early on due to a fire. Until it ceased operation, the mill was powered by a combined heat and power plant. The kestrels nest in a window of the tower, and in spring you can watch the young kestrels raising their young and attempting to fly. At night, you will often hear the call of our owls. There are also plenty of hares and pheasants here, and occasionally, though rarely, you might spot a deer. 🌳 The meadow is bordered by many young fruit trees of old, endangered varieties along the road. We planted these trees as part of the NABU orchard project to sustainably protect these old fruit varieties from extinction. The trees are now bearing fruit, which you are welcome to help yourselves to. 🐐🐐 Adjacent to the meadow live our two goats Azrael and Lavender, who are shy but always happy to have guests. 🚽🧖‍♀️💦 Equipment: 🔅Private bathroom with toilet and shower. Hot water is supplied via an instantaneous water heater (38 degrees). 🔅Bathroom sink 🔅Refrigerator stocked with various drinks and eggs from happy hens. 🔅Use the barrel sauna and rain shower under the linden tree 🔅Fire bowl and wood (you can also bring your own) 🚗 🚜🏍️ Sounds: Here you have the tranquility of rural life on the one hand, and the sounds of rural life on the other. You might hear a tractor or lawnmower running, or other noises. You are standing in a green area, looking out at nature. The road is about 100 meters away. Depending on whether the field between the clearing and the road is built upon, the traffic is more or less visible and audible. The wind direction and the volume of traffic also play a role. If you would prefer to be completely alone and in a quieter setting, then you should book our single pitch in the orchard south of the mill - this also has a swing and a small sandbox and many old fruit trees and berry bushes to snack on. ❤️🚴‍♀️🥾Activities in the area: Upon booking, I will send you a small travel guide with more detailed information. Here's a brief overview: 🔅Shopping facilities (groceries) within 1 km. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen and Hamm within 10 km (nice cycle paths to get there). 🔅Regional and Mediterranean food in the town, in Ahlen, Münster, Hamm. 🔅 Post office and doctors are within walking distance. 🔅 Beautiful cycling and hiking routes – either directly into the industrial heritage or into the natural landscape of Münsterland. Access to the Werse Cycle Path and the 100 Castles Route is nearby. 🔅Lakes for swimming and hiking within 20-35 km) 🔅Canoeing and kayaking on the Werse or the Lippe rivers. 🔅By car, train, or bike, you can quickly reach Münster (35 km), Dortmund, Hamm, or visit small towns in the Münsterland region. In my opinion, Münster in particular is worth a day trip. And the Netherlands isn't far away either. And of course, there's the Ruhr area with its industrial heritage.
